Mother of Triplets Pregnant With Nine Babies
Mexican Woman Is Expecting Three Girls and Six Boys
TV mom Kate Gosselin has a hard time getting eight kids ready for school every morning, but she only had to give birth twice. (Once to twins, once to sextuplets, if you’re counting.) A Mexican woman is vying for the title of Supermom by having her nine babies at the same time.
Karla Vanessa Perez already has triplets and is expecting nine more on May 20, according to the Daily News.
Perez, who lives next to Texas in Coahuila state, conceived using fertility treatment. The nonamom-to-be is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in the state capital.
“It’s very early to think of names for the babies,” she said. “First I hope that everything goes well.”
It’s always a good idea to put your health first, especially in Perez’s case. There are only two known nonatuplet deliveries, and, sadly, none of the babies lived.
Hopefully that doesn’t happen again and Perez will claim her spot in history, having delivered the largest number of surviving babies in one birth.
Nadya Suleman, dubbed “Octomom,” holds the current record after delivering eight babies in 2009.
Suleman’s notoriety since then has been fueled by controversy and negative reactions. Apparently, people don’t like it when public assistance picks up the tab for a $520 haircut.
If all goes well, Perez could become a celebrity “Nonamom” and not follow in Octomom’s dubious footsteps.
